Job Description
About the role:
Reporting to the Manager Maintenance Services, this is a key leadership role for an experienced electrical, control systems or operational technology professional who is ready to influence the performance, reliability and resilience of critical industrial infrastructure.
As Superintendent Electrical Systems, you will lead the Electrical Systems, Process Control, and Operational Technology team, providing technical leadership, governance and specialist engineering support across Port Waratah’s electrical, communications, process control and OT assets.
Key responsibilities include:
Lead the Electrical Systems, Process Control and OT team, supporting safety, capability, performance and engagement
Provide technical leadership across electrical systems, process control, industrial communications, OT infrastructure and related operational assets
Develop and maintain long-term asset strategies, lifecycle plans and technology roadmaps for critical electrical and OT systems
Lead reliability improvement activities, including technical investigations, root cause analysis and practical engineering solutions
Oversee OT network governance, system resilience, vendor support, configuration standards and disaster recovery planning
Lead OT cybersecurity governance, including risk mitigation, vulnerability remediation, audits and IT/OT interface management

What we are looking for:
Extensive industrial experience in electrical systems, process control, operational technology or related infrastructure
Degree qualification in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering or a related discipline will be highly regarded
Knowledge of HV/LV electrical systems, protection systems, motor control, industrial automation, PLC, SCADA and/or DCS systems
Experience with OT networks, industrial communications, cybersecurity, system resilience and asset lifecycle planning
Proven leadership capability, with the ability to engage, develop and influence technical teams and stakeholders
Experience in heavy industry, bulk materials handling, mining, ports, manufacturing or similar operational environments will be highly regarded.
