Job Description

About the role:   

Leading a small, service-focused team, you will oversee the day-to-day management of stores, inventory systems, and warehouse facilities. This includes ensuring materials are available when required, accurately controlled, and stored safely to support maintenance activities and broader operational requirements. Working closely with stakeholders including Maintenance and Project teams, you will leverage your materials management insights to enhance the efficiency of warehouses and inventory processes to improve how we deliver for our customers. 

Key responsibilities include: 

  • Lead, coach and develop the Stores team, fostering a culture focused on safety, collaboration and service  

  • Manage inventory accuracy, stock availability, and compliance with storage and materials handling requirements 

  • Maintain and oversee inventory master data within the inventory management system 

  • Manage the end‑to‑end refurbishment process for critical plant and operational components 

  • Coordinate stocktakes, cycle counting, and the lifecycle management of repairable assets 

  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on efficiency, reliability, risk management, and cost control 

  • Optimise warehouse layout, space utilisation, and materials handling practices to improve efficiency 

  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with internal stakeholders, suppliers, and service providers 

Desired Skills and Experience

Skills and Experience:    

  • Leadership experience in warehouse and inventory management within a heavy industrial environment 

  • Relevant qualifications in materials management, logistics, procurement or a related field 

  • Experience in inventory management, ERP systems and stock control processes  

  • Understanding of hazardous materials handling, WHS and regulatory compliance 

  • A commitment to continuous improvement with success in leading improvement outcomes 

  • Effective communication and stakeholder engagement skills  

  • Forklift Licence and Dogman competency is desirable
